It's main function is to reduce tariffs and other trade barriers, ensuring trade flows WTO was founded on January 1, 1995 and currently has 164 member states it's headquarters is at Geneva, Switzerland. The World Trade Or ganization's decisions are made by a consensus of its 164 member states, this means a single country -- especially the world’s largest economy -- is able to create a stalemate to pressure others.
